One Year Blog Anniversary!

Guess what?!? It's Cookin' Cowgirl's One Year Blog Anniversary! {Wait, does that technically make it my birthday? I think it DOES!}

And because it's my blogaversary annibirthday whatever, I took the liberty of  baking myself my blog a cake. And not just any cake. See, anniversaries and birthdays are very special occasions and deserve only the finest of cakes. I'm talking about the one, the only, Carrot Cake! My mom's recipe is delicious and I have been meaning to make this for a WHILE. In fact if you ever check out my Bucket List, you would know that it's been on there for... about a year. SAD!

Anyways, I finally made it in celebration of the past year. And what a delicious year it's been!

I have learned a lot of things about my self, some good, some bad. For instance, I have learned that no matter how hard I try, I simply cannot make most of my recipies with out dragging out and dirtying up at LEAST half of the dishes in my kitchen. I have learned that I can have a gourmet meal in mind and the ingredients bought, but if I am hungry enough, I will have to have one three bowls of Reese's Puffs Cereal  to "tide me over." I have learned that "pretty," well photographed food is not always the best and sometimes "ugly" food is delicious!   And last but not least, I have learned that I have the most patient husband in the world, who still loves me even though 90% of his dinners in the past year have been cold. {"Wait babe, I gotta get a quick picture of that! Your plate looks better than mine!"}

Since I don't have kids yet, this blog is my baby {It's a girl}, and I am so proud that it is one year old! It has it's own facebook page, it has it's own Pioneer Woman Tasty Kitchen profile, and it has a FoodBuzz profile. Also, it plays well with others, so come join me on those sites! Also, it's been featured on Vital Juice and on Athens.

Most importantly, this past year has been FUN! I love being creative and coming up with good, simple and sometimes healthy meals, and sharing them with you! But keep this cowgirl on her toes. Give me suggestions, ask me question, keep me thinking. I have a LOT to learn. Keep coming back to visit and I will keep new and fresh ideas a-flowin. :)
