3 Ingredient Hot Sausage Dip
Did you ever end up trying my Sausage Cheese Squares? This dip reminds me a lot of the filling in those. Mmmm. Guess I'll have to make this again now that Hunter Hann is back!
3 Ingredient Hot Sausage Dip
adapted from Carolina Heart Strings
serves 6-8
1 lb ground turkey sausage
8 oz fat free cream cheese, softened, room temp
1 can Rotel diced tomatoes with habaneros*, drained
In a skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat, then drain it and place it in a large bowl. Add the cream cheese and drained Rotel to the sausage and stir to combine. Serve hot, or place in a crock pot to keep warm. Serve with chips, crackers, pretzels, or veggies.
One great thing about this dip is that it re-heats very well, and still tasted great!
*I used the Rotel with habaneros because I can never find "hot" turkey sausage and I wanted to give the dip a kick with out adding a bunch of hot sauce. If you use hot sausage, you may want to use Rotel with green chili's instead. Either way, the dip had awesome flavor, without being too hot.
This is a GREAT dip for the holidays! It's fast and easy to make and a crowd pleaser. This would also be a great game day food! If you are watching your carbs, this would be a great appetizer to serve, just use bell peppers or other veggies to scoop it up!
I. Want. This. Now.
ReplyDeleteLove that it's so simple. What a great recipe to serve to others .... or to be lazy with on my own!
ReplyDeleteYum! I think I just found tonight's dinner....
ReplyDelete3 ingredients? I'm in!
ReplyDeleteThis savory dip is a great thing to snack on when you are busy decorating or wrapping packages. Big on flavor but only has three ingredients-I will gladly try it. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who makes this dip using zesty hot sausage and it is so good!

Tasty Appetite
Mmm. From the looks of it, that dip could work well on a taco or a burrito. It looks like a very good dip, of course. Spicy stuff often does a great job as a crowd-pleaser, since the kick of flavor has a lot of zesty energy.
