Funfetti White Chocolate Puppy Chow

I am super excited to announce that I am going to be participating in the Kansas City Color Run this summer! I just signed up this week and Ithought I would make something FUN to celebrate. So in honor of the Color Run, I made this!

Funfetti White Chocolate Puppy Chow

The dates for the run are Saturday, June 30th and Sunday, July 1st. They had to add the Sunday run because the Saturday one sold out with in a few hours of being live! My sister-in-law and I are signed up for Sunday and I'm SO excited! It's a 5K and the money made goes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City

Ok, so back to this sprinkle, confetti goodness! I have been making puppy chow {or "reindeer chow" at Christmas time} for a while now, but I have never made it like this! This is like puppy chow got slapped with a magic wand!

What makes this puppy chow different than the origional is the white chocolate and the sprinkles!

I wanted to use white chocolate so that the sprinkles would show up better. I used white candy melts (which is what I recommend because they melt better) but you could also use white chocolate chips, white chocolate baking squares, or white almond bark.

Funfetti White Chocolate Puppy Chow
     makes about 18 servings {1/2 C each}
1/2 C creamy peanut butter
1/4 C butter
1 C white candy melts
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
9 C Crispix cereal* {or Rice Chex, or Corn Chex}
1 3/4 C powdered sugar
1/2 C assortment of sprinkles

Mix together the powdered sugar and sprinkles in a bowl and set aside.

In a microwave safe bowl, melt the peanut butter, butter and white candy melts together until melted. Stir until smooth and mix in vanilla. Pour the cereal into a large bowl, then pour peanut butter mixture over it and stir until evenly coated.
Pour the coated cereal into a large paper bag and add in the powdered sugar and sprinkle mixture. Fold down the top of the bag and shake the mess out of it. Peek inside to make sure the cereal is coated; shake again if necessary. Eat!

BAM! Puppy chow on Princess steroids!

*I like to use Crispix cereal when I make puppy chow because it's rice on one side and corn on the other, but feel free to use Chex cereal!

So, I'm going to finish eating this trough of sugary madness, then I'm going to start training! :)

For other Funfetti ideas, try my Funfetti Blondie Bites, or my Funfetti Cake Batter Cookies.  I clearly have a sprinkle, confetti addiction, huh?!

Doesn't this look FUN!?

Leave me a comment if you are going to be running in the KC one! I might need a little motivation! :)

    1. Good question!! Not to my knowledge. We did have to pay a fee to enter the race, but I looked and I didn't see anything else about collecting donations. I will let you know if I hear anything more.
