The protein powder is called Healthy 100% Whey by NNW and I get the Cinnamon Bun flavor. The thing I really love about this protein is that it's sweetened by Stevia so it is great for diabetics. For a whole scoop there is only 1 gram of sugar. It is also a gluten free protein powder, which is not a huge deal to me because I am not gluten sensitive, but for those that are, this stuff is awesome. It is also has the most amazing taste and smell. It is very cinnamony! Even if I use a flavored protein, I usually still end up adding spices like cinnamon or a pumpkin pie spice, but I don't have to with this one. Can you tell I really love it?
And because it's so yummy, I only end up using 4 ingredients to make this smoothie.
Milk, pumpkin, the protein and a little peanut butter powder make this the most delicious drink, it honestly tastes like a decadent dessert.
Pumpkin Cinnabun Protein Smoothie
makes 1 smoothie
1 C unsweetened vanilla almond milk {I use Almond Breeze}
1/2 C pumpkin puree
1 serving protein powder
2 T PB2 {powdered peanut butter}
1 C crushed ice*
Add the first 4 ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Use a spatula to scrape down the sides, add ice and blend until smooth again. Pour and enjoy!
This drink is thick and smooth and so satisfying. It really is so filling for how low calories it is!

I don't normally calculate the nutrition facts of my recipes but this one made me so curious that I had to work it up. Here's the "skinny" on this healthy smoothie:
223 Calories, 6.5g fat, 30g protein, 16g carbs, 8.2g fiber, and 6g of sugar, WOW!
I buy this protein at my local Hy-Vee grocery store, but it is also available on their website, Healthy Whey.
*If you have a mediocre blender and get annoyed that your smoothies are never smooth, I've got THE solution! Crushed ice from Sonic. No seriously, did you know that you can buy it by the bag from Sonic? It's about $2.50 per bag and it is the best way to get the perfect smoothie consistency every time!
Now it's your turn. What's your favorite healthy smoothie?
cinnamon bun
