Homemade Cherry Limeade Popsicles

Pin It Summer is here, and it's HOT! I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend. We didn't do much, just sat around and ate! :) We did go for a walk one day though, and when we got back to the house, we enjoyed these!

Homemade Cherry Limeade Popsicles
They were sweet. And lime-y and fizzy.
And delicious.
Oh, and they have real FRESH cherries in them. Yep, I did it right.

Um, I don't want to embarrass you, but I think you just drooled on your key board!

I started out with my homemade cherry limeade recipe.

Homemade Cherry Limeade
1/2 C freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4 small limes)
1/2 C fresh cherries, pitted
1/4 C maraschino cherry juice
2 T grenadine
2 liter bottle lemon lime soda (I used sprite zero)
Lime zest, optional

Chop cherries very fine, or use food processor to chop them up.

Pour cherries, maraschino juice and grenadine in a large pitcher. Add lime juice and soda. Stir.

Look at all those cherries!

Pour cherry limeade into popsicle trays and fill almost to the top.

Put sticks in each compartment. Freeze for several hours.

I think the bottom separated a little because of the bubbles in the soda. Run plastic under water for several seconds, wiggle the stick, and pull popsicles out.

Grab a friend and enjoy!
These would be fun for a kids birthday, or a back yard get together!

  4. I made these tonight. I tried the mixture as a drink and didn't love it. I think maybe using lemon aid instead of 7 up might be good? I will say they are in the freezer now and i can't wait to try them! So many yummy recipes here for my quazi-vegan self

  5. Thanks for the tip femmmefatal! I actually do like the Sprite Zero in there, but I have tried this drink since this post with strawberries instead of cherries and I have to say, I prefer it that way.
I like your lemonade idea, maybe with some club soda? Then you would have flavor from the lemonade and fizz from the soda. :)
